Overview
This project involves capturing drone imagery of a small building to generate a textured 3D mesh using photogrammetry. Output is intended for visualization and presentation purposes only.
Objectives
Plan and fly a drone mission around a structure to capture overlapping oblique imagery
Process images in WebODM to generate a dense point cloud, mesh, and textured 3D model
Export and view the model in 3D viewers or GIS software for further analysis
Assess model quality and geometry for improvements in future captures
Tools & Methods
DJI Mavic Series
WebODM (3D reconstruction and mesh processing)
p3d.in for model hosting
CloudCompare for point cloud clean up
Cesium ion for visualization of point cloud
Results
3D textured mesh file (OBJ or GLTF)
Point Cloud (LAS or LAZ)
Model video links
