Overview
The purpose of this project was to obtain aerial imagery that could be used in a roof inspection report for an insurance company client.
Objectives
Birds-eye: Straight-down shots (90°), cover 100% of the property in at least 90% of the frame; split into multiple images if needed. Avoid >50% snow or water pooling.
Perimeter: 40° angle, 20 ft from roof edge, 15 ft above roof, 10% overlap; point camera toward roof interior, capture edges while moving along roof.
Ortho: Automated flight at 125 ft AGL, 90° camera angle, 80% front/side overlap, ≥30 images for stitching.
Notes: Include building numbers; do not capture facades/walls; focus on roof and perimeter.
